Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

NTC Contracting are looking for a senior heavy duty diesel mechanical fitter for a full time role in Onslow.  The position will be hands on overseeing NTC’s extensive fleet of over 50 items of plant.

The successful candidate will be trade certified with extensive experience on heavy equipment particularly earthmoving plant.  They should be a strong problem solver, able to work under pressure and to the highest safety standards. Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Performing preventive maintenance on earthmoving equipment
  • Providing in-field service/repair / diagnosis on equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic fault finding skills
  • Working autonomously and self-motivated
  • Planning work and carrying out parts and equipment requisitions as necessary
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Ability to be punctual, reliable and fit to work
  • Ability to complete documentation related to inspection sheets, certificates and note work incidents

The essential requirements are:

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
  • White Construction Card
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • Forklift License
  • Ability to pass a Medical and a Drug & Alcohol Test

The position is open to FIFO, DIDO, Local residence, with housing available if the candidate wanted to live in Onslow.

The position is based primarily in Onslow so for those living locally or moving to Onslow you will be home every night.

Civil Plant Operator

NTC are looking for several experienced plant operators for two exciting new projects in the Pilbara.

The roles are for all round operators and be varied but as a minimum must have plant operation tickets and skills including Rollers, Trucks, Watercarts, Excavators, Dozer, Grader and Loaders with specialties around detailed earthworks.  The successful candidate will have experience with earthmoving and civil construction and demands motivate individuals with a productive attitude.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience working on projects within the Pilbara region
  • Display an extremely high level of commitment to project industrial safety.
  • Prior earthmoving plant experience
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Current HR licence is MANDITORY
  • Construction White Card
  • Plant operating tickets are mandatory
  • First Aid certificate (beneficial);

Civil Site Supervisor

NTC are looking for a versatile, hands on, experienced Civil Construction Site Supervisor for a role on one of two of our exciting new projects in the Pilbara. The role will be varied and at times hands on with smaller crews but diverse projects with a close knit team.

The Site Supervisor will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for planning, organising and monitoring the all aspects of our construction projects. This role requires a motivated senior and professional candidate with outstanding communication skills to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. The successful candidate will have experience with forming lasting relationships with clients and promoting a positive culture and retention of staff on the project site. This person will also should be able to display delivering medium sized multi faceted civil construction projects on time and within budget. The ability to lead, motivate and promote safety is paramount to success.  The role demands strong leadership to achieve required outcomes, whilst maintaining a positive and productive attitude

Key Criteria:

  • Experience working on Operating Mine Sites within the Pilbara region
  • Display a high level of commitment to project industrial safety.
  • A substantial amount of experience working as a Supervisor on detailed earthworks & roadworks construction projects.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with an ability to manage a team of subcontractors effectively to meet project requirements
  • Be able to build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Provide support and advice on planning and construction
  • Subcontractor management experience
  • An ability to read engineering plans and specifications;
  • Highly effective planning, organising and problem solving skills;
  • The ability to indirectly lead, motivate and influence others;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Schedule 26 prefered
  • First Aid certificate (beneficial);

Project Coordinator / Engineer

After the award of a large civil earthworks project in the Pilbara NTC Contracting now looking for an experienced Project Coordinator / Engineer on a Project in the Pilbara.

The successful candidate will provide QA Support, Paperwork Support and Technical Assistance to the Project Manager and Site Supervisors. They will be responsible for planning, organising and monitoring the all aspects of our construction project. Daily tasks will include conducting quality assurance, project cost control, production reporting and monitoring, ensuring workplace health and safety, and managing people/subcontractors to ensure the project meets budgets and deadlines. They will be responsible for the management of of the project to achieve quality works with optimum production and cost outcomes through the effective utilization of plant, direct labour, and subcontractors in a healthy and safe work environment.

Key Criteria:

·       Qualification in Civil Engineering or similar

·       4+ years in Earthworks and Civil Construction

·       Strengths in Productivity and Earthworks Technical Knowledge

·       A strong and ethical approach to work

·       Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment

·       Experience working with budgets and time restraints

·       Provide support and advice on planning and construction

·       Ensure all quality assurance requirements are met

·       Hands on experience working in the field;

Typical tasks include:

·       Management of project testing plans

·       Subcontractor management

·       Production reporting

·       Quality Assurance

You will be genuinely interested in working within a mid sized business that although offer smaller, shorter projects of diverse scope and size, but will also offer a personable, friendly and supportive office environment where the focus is on the collective growth and success of the business.

This position is FIFO from Perth on a 2:1 roster with project accommodation provided.
